The Community Chest of Korea Busan (also known as Busan Fruit of Love) led by Chairman Lee Soo-tae, held the 2025 Busan Honor Society Members’ Day event on the 25th at Mokjangwon Banquet Hall in Yeongdo-gu, Busan.
The event was attended by around 100 participants, including Chairman Lee Soo-tae; Honorary Advisors Lee Jang-ho (Chairman of BNK Financial Group) and Choi Geum-sik (Chairman of Sunbo Industries); Kim Kwang-hoe, Busan’s Deputy Mayor for Future Innovation; Yang Jae-saeng, Chairman of the Busan Chamber of Commerce and Industry; Lee Su-gye, CEO of Ocean Logics Co., Ltd.; Kang Byeong-ryeong, Director of Gwangdo Oriental Clinic; and Park Sung-jin, CEO of SJ Tanker Co., Ltd. and former Chairman of the Busan Honor Club.
The program consisted of two parts. Part one featured a general assembly, including activity reports of the Busan Honor Club and the election of new leadership. Part two, the Members’ Day Ceremony, included an induction for new Honor Society members and an award ceremony presenting the Busan Mayor’s Commendation to the 2025 Honorees of the Year.
At the general assembly, Dr. Lee Sung-geun, Director of I-Saem Hospital, was elected as the 7th Chairman of the Busan Honor Club, succeeding outgoing Chairman Jung Sung-woo, CEO of GMAX Co., Ltd., who led the 5th and 6th terms. Choi Jeong-gyu, CEO of Woojung Pharmaceuticals, was appointed as the new auditor. Both will serve a two-year term leading the Busan Honor Club.
During the second part of the event, a joint induction ceremony was held for three new Honor Society members: Kim Tae-won (CEO of Data Save, Member No. 377), Jung Gwang-hyun (CEO of Korea Ocean Tech, Member No. 379), and Park Jin-soo (Attorney, Jinsoo Law Office, Member No. 380). With their addition, Busan now counts a total of 380 Honor Society members.
For their exemplary practice of neighborly love, three business leaders—Park Byung-dae, Chairman of Songwol Co., Ltd.; Park Se-chul, Chairman of Oriental Precision & Engineering Co., Ltd.; and Song Hae-hwa, CEO of Ocean Entec Co., Ltd.—received the Busan Mayor’s Award as the 2025 Honorees of the Year.
Outgoing Chairman Jung Sung-woo stated, “Over the past four and a half years, thanks to the support and encouragement of our 380 Honor members, we were able to accomplish many achievements. During my tenure, 185 new Honor members joined, and in 2022 alone, a record-breaking 63 members were inducted. I sincerely thank all members and everyone who supported us warmly.”
Incoming Chairman Lee Sung-geun remarked, “It is an honor to serve as chairman alongside such respected individuals. I will do my utmost to promote a culture of giving, strengthen the unity among members, and help build a warmer Busan through the spirit of sharing.”
